Advice

There are loads of premium rate services on TV but before you take part use your phonebrain!

Don’t be pushed…

Take your time. Before you press the button or dial that number make sure you want to take part and you want to pay. Feel under pressure? Not sure of the price? Understand the cost first and don’t rush into a decision.

Over done it?

Got a favourite show? Can’t stop voting? Make sure you know your limits, it’s easy to press send or call in but not so easy to spend the next few months washing the car or babysitting that annoying little sister so you can pay your folks back.
Don’t say it’s not you! If it’s on your phone then you will have dialled the number. Your phone company will have records of what you have done so if you don’t want to pay, don’t dial!

Old enough?

Sounds a stupid question… not if you pay to play but you are too young to win. Put down the fake moustache and glasses set, programmes will ask for official ID when you claim your prize. If you’ve won and you’re under age, you won’t get anything.

Who’s paying the bill?

Make sure you get permission before you play. If you are paying your own bill, make sure that you are happy to pay the price.

Heard a recorded message/got a text back?

After you use these services you are likely to hear a recorded message or get a text back to confirm you have taken part. You will only be charged for calling/texting in, you will not be charged for receiving a confirmation text back.
